About Big Bridge
Big Bridge is a software and IT services firm focused on one thing: applications that work, how they’re conceived, designed, built, and operated. AI has made building software faster than ever. It hasn’t made knowing what to build any easier.
If you have an idea for an application, our first response is: “Okay. Let’s think through this.” As people who have spent decades designing, building, and running software that solves real operational problems, we bring more than an opinion to that conversation, we do the work.
We care most about what happens before and around the code: understanding the problem deeply, defining what the application actually needs to do, designing it to be usable and scalable from the start, and building a first version fast enough to learn from. The technology follows the thinking (not the other way around).
We also develop and operate our own applications, purpose-built tools available directly through the Big Bridge platform, bringing the same approach to problems we’ve identified and decided to solve ourselves.
A Career of Seeing Solutions and Building Them
Big Bridge was founded by people whose path into application development didn’t start with a computer science degree. It started with a question that kept coming up across a 40-year career spanning legal services, telecommunications, healthcare, real estate, hospitality, and higher education: “This process is broken. What if we built something to fix it?”
That instinct — to see an operational problem and move toward building a tool to solve it — has shown up consistently across every one of those domains. See the gap, sketch the solution, build something useful with whatever tools are at hand, and let it evolve. The first version is rarely the last, but it generates the feedback that shapes everything that follows. The goal has always been immediate value rather than a perfect system that arrives much later.
The results have included enterprise systems managing hundreds of millions in annual investment, platforms adopted across multiple institutions nationally, and a SaaS product that grew to over 1,000 independent users — each one starting with an honest look at what was actually broken.
Why This Matters More in the Age of AI
We use AI throughout our work, to design, write code, test, and move faster than was possible even a year ago. It’s a remarkable tool. But AI answers the question you give it; it doesn’t tell you whether it’s the right question.
The hard parts of building software were never really the typing. They’re deciding what problem is worth solving, who the application is actually for, what can safely be left out, and what happens when real people, real data, and real growth arrive. Those decisions still take judgment, and someone still has to stand behind them.
That’s where decades of seeing what works, and what quietly fails, earns its keep. AI makes an experienced builder dramatically faster. It doesn’t replace knowing where to point it.
